MX2000 Multi-Axis System Controller

This
fully programmable, powerful DSP-based motion controller serves as the only
controller necessary even in the most complex and sophisticated machine control
systems. Depending on which model you choose, the MX2000 can simultaneously
operate up to 8 servo or step motor axes while performing up to 7 concurrent
motion control and I/O tasks. The MX2000 control system incorporates not only
the Texas Instruments TMS320C31 floating point, 32 bit, 33MHZ digital signal
processor but also has 256 Kbytes of "Flash" memory available for user
program storage.
The MX2000 has been designed for use with all Superior SLO-SYN and most other
manufacturers servo amplifiers and step motor drives. The MX2000-2 model
controls one or two axes, the MX2000-6 model controls up to 6, and for up to 8
axes of control, we offer the MX2000-8 model. The latter two models can be used
with optional expansion boards providing more than 350 low level digital or
standard OPTO-22 I/O points. For ease of communicating the MX2000 provides two
serial ports. Both serial ports can be configured separately for RS485 or RS232
communications.
The MX2000 controller may be operated as a stand alone system, with or without
an operator interface panel or host computer. In some cases a simple switch
interface connected via the provided axis or expansion I/O will suffice for
controlling a machine that does not need extensive interaction with the operator
for setup information or message display. BCD switches may also be incorporated
to enter numeric data for simple setup. However, using an Operator Interface
panel, complete with a keypad and display, such as the IWS-120SE, may provide
more flexibility and easier and more "user-friendly" machine
operation.
