Inverter Duty AC MotorsBodine Electric's new AC inverters are modern, state-of-the-art drives that employ the latest IGBTs for power and microprocessor for control. All the versions are variable frequency type drives with voltage compensation at lower frequencies to prevent stator saturation and resultant motor overheating. Matched with Bodine's inverter-duty AC motors, the resultant adjustable speed system offers an alternative to DC motor and drive systems without the headaches of brush replacement or the mess of brush dust. And the high frequency PWM output keeps the system quiet. Bodine will build upon this initial product offering later in 2000 with larger horsepower models able to drive AC motors rated up to 30 HP.
