Description
The
3540 M step motor driver contains a microstep phase sequencer, two switching
ampliers, and optoisolation circuits. This driver also includes an automatic
feature to lower motor current anytime the motor is left at rest for more than
one second.
The ampliers regulate motor current by chopping at a constant, inaudible frequency. Phase current is selected from 32 levels by a DIP switch. 1/2, 1/5, 1/10 or 1/64 step operation is also selected by the DIP switch.
A switch selectable self test feature is provided for troubleshooting your system. When invoked, the self test slowly rotates the motor in alternating directions to assure that the drive is properly powered and connected to the motor.
The 3540 M is a PC board mounted on an aluminum angle heat transfer chassis. A mating heat sink is available for stand alone operation.
